- Map (x,y) coordinates using reference points on the slides can be used to relocate specific cells for multiplexing.
- Loading of cells onto slides, staining or adhered cells, changing reagents and washing are easily managed on a single slide.

- A small population of cells may be used (103 – 104) compared to large numbers required for flow cytometry.
